Ok Mamas todays topic of discussion is Yoga for New Moms with a not so secret twist, a #yogapantchallenge and a keeping it real discussion because that’s how we roll. So lets get into it…
You know I’m pretty open about so many unexpected things I’ve dealt with in motherhood. When I had Zoe, I was so sick that much of these things either bypassed me or were insignificant compared to what I was dealing with. New motherhood with Baby E has been a whole different ball game. I’m still so grateful for my mom circle of friends because sometimes I have questions. Big questions I only feel comfortable discussing with them. Today’s question is one we have discussed before… Bladder changes and leakage.
Has this happened to you? No. At first it didn’t happen to me either but boy oh boy things change when you up and decide to get your workout on. Now uh excuse me, why is this subject so TMI? This is real life! Real stuff and we shouldn’t be afraid to talk about. It all started with a morning yoga routine. I was doing basic yoga stretches which I’ve shared before and all of a sudden I had a teeny tiny accident. Shock doesn’t describe how I felt. I immediately jumped on my mom group chat and asked this question: “So what’s up with this bladder leakage post baby?” The responses went like this:
“Girl you didn’t know?”
“Ugh I hate it!’
“It’s the worst but I have a solution for you”
That last one was just what I needed to hear because seriously I know I’m considered an “older” mom but come on. So we get into this long discussion about protective measures including liners, carrying extra underwear and the best of all Depend Silhouette Active Fit Briefs. WHAT? Who knew such a thing existed. Well they do and I tried them and if you happen to be dealing with this new “issue”, you should too.
Why?
The fabric is cotton like and they are smooth and comfortable under your clothes because of the thin design. In other words, they are yoga pants approved. Not to mention the fit is perfect and if you are a black undies gal like myself, you can rock them in black. Beige more your thing? No worries, they come in beige too! Yes mamas, you get the trusted protection of Depend without having to worry if people can tell you are wearing them. And let me say: worrying about what people may see is not vain! It is a real concern and there is nothing wrong with that.
Now I want you to take the Yoga Pant Challenge and add these 5 yoga for new moms moves to your daily routine.
The Challenge
Here are two identical pictures of my bum (lol). Can you guess which one I’m wearing the Depend Active Fit Brief in? Leave your guess for a chance to win a Walmart Activewear Gift Set. Enter here:
Now I challenge you to do it yourself. Purchase a box of Depend Active Fit briefs at Walmart then go ahead and send me a pic so I can guess too. Try some of these yoga moves I’ve been enjoying since becoming a new mom for the second time.
Yoga for New Moms Workout
- Child’s Pose while engaging pelvic floor.
- Downward-Facing Dog
- Triangle Pose

I’ll share an instructional video for this simple workout next week. I started doing most of them a few weeks postpartum but be sure to consult your doctor before starting any workout. Good luck on your motherhood journey and getting fit. Remember to live life uninterrupted and let Depend Active Fit help you.

January 26, 2016 at 9:15 PMThank goodness I haven’t had these issues, knock on wood. I will say Depends has come a long way and the design seems more discreet and stylish from what I can remember.
I’ve been wanting to get into yoga. I’ll be waiting on your instructional video.

January 27, 2016 at 8:45 AMGirl I’ve been a Kegel queen and I’ve been doing some reading. My doc also told me to make sure I am staying hydrated. Oh that video is totally a challenge to myself to make it happen. Stay tuned.

January 28, 2016 at 12:53 PMI think it is wonderful for Depend to create a product that can fit well with tight clothing, such as ahtletic wear. I do yoga and I can certainly appreciate products that offer seamless lines in the undergarment area. Thanks for sharing!

January 30, 2016 at 8:18 AMThanks Cara. Tell me about it. Who wants to look like they are wearing a diaper ever unless they are a baby of course. LOL

January 28, 2016 at 2:45 PMI’m glad these products are constantly being developed and improved, and I hope I never need them. I like everything in its original state, so I’m grateful to not have any children, except for a trophy stepson, who I fortunately met when he was 12, thereby skipping pregnancy, labor, middle of the night feedings, and all of the things that made me sure from a young age I didn’t want to be a mom!

January 30, 2016 at 8:17 AMThank you Sage. You made me laugh with your list of things that made sure you did not want to be a mom. None of that was easy but I am enjoying watching them grow. I can’t wait until they are off to college. LOL
