A few weeks ago I decided to finally get my annual physical done because I was tired of feeling sick and having constant stomach issues. Two babies in 2.5 years means I kept up with my ob/gyn appointments but it was time for an overall workup. Come to find out, I had a stomach infection along with an ulcer for God knows how long. I ended up on a crazy antibiotic regime and all exercise came to a halt. The way I was feeling, I could barely eat much less exercise. But you know what happens when you fall off your exercise routine right? It’s hard to get back on your game. Not to mention both kids took turns being sick over the last month and then there is the all exhausting thing called teething.
Yoga at Home
So here I am trying to get back on schedule. I realize that getting to the gym isn’t always going to happen as evident above so I decided to give yoga at home another try because I can literally roll out of bed to get my workout on. Or I can squeeze in a session during naps or in the wee hours when insomnia has taken over. But I was tired of scrolling through videos to find what I need which is beginners yoga in 15-20 minutes with different focus areas. MyYogaWorks has made my yoga at home dreams come true.
I still need to work on my form. A LOT! But I try to get in a few sessions outside since the weather is still cooperating.
A few quick clicks, and I had a playlist of over 15 videos I wanted to try. I am a true believer and have seen great results in doing shorter more focused workouts. Yoga has always intimidated me so long classes at a studio are not for me. I call myself the forever beginner yogi but now I have what I need for meditation, core strength and even a quick mommy and me routine. Yoga at home for 15 minutes (or more as I improve) is a win for me. And since I am a moody mama, sometimes I pick a 5-minute video for a quick pick me up. 5 minutes works too especially when your kids and their needs await you. I picked out a few based on pilates too because pilates are the truth.
Z enjoys the yoga workouts we do together. Here she is attempting a few poses on her own and of course, her little brother had to join in.
