A Simple Summer Day

A simple summer day means packing snacks, a light lunch, our PlaytexBaby Sipsters cups and enjoying the moment. Watching the planes go by was the perfect simple summer day for us.

Thank you,Playtex Baby™ for sponsoring today’s simple summer day discussion. All opinions are my own.

I believe in a simple summer day.  Believe in embracing the plan free day and just going with the flow. It’s been raining almost daily here since school let out for summer. In between that, the rain-free days have been pretty hot and humid so our fun time outdoors has been limited. Sure, there are plenty of indoor places for us to visit and play dates to attend but I’m also quite fine with us staying home and enjoying each other’s company.

Any day can be made into a fun day with kids. I am definitely the mom that prefers to keep our days lightly planned if there is any planning at all. We did one week of camp this summer and while I am considering another week or two, it simply may not happen. And that is perfectly ok. I remember playing outside with my friends being the best part of my summers as a kid. Kids don’t need jam packed fully scheduled days to enjoy their childhood.

Yesterday we took a ride to the airport to pick up my niece. This turned into a simple summer day of planes. The kids love watching the planes taxi and take off and they love watching mommy pretend to be a plane. But the most exciting thing is when the pilot gives them a big wave. Such a simple gesture makes for a lasting memory.

We packed some fruits, a few snacks and water in our PlaytexBaby® Sipsters® cups and went on our way. This is something I always do. Having, at a minimum, a few snacks and water means if we decide to stay out longer than planned, my kids are not crying for food or water right away. Sometimes I pack a lunch even if we end up bringing it back home. Our Sipsters® cups are with us at all times because the kids are guaranteed to drink enough water when they have their favorite cups with them. The double insulation also means their drinks stay cooler longer. Plus they work in our favor if we do decide to stay out for lunch. All moms know those kiddie cups at restaurants just don’t cut it. We avoid spills by using our Sipsters®.

After watching over 20 planes take off and explaining to the ever curious 4-year-old how planes fly (and demonstrating with my body in full taxi and take off mode) we dropped my niece off and made it back home for lunch and nap time. I can guarantee you that Zoe will take about our fun day of watching the planes for at least a week or more. There is sure to be an art project and a story or two to come of this simple summer day.

So my #PlaytexMoms tip for moms, dads, and caretakers of little ones is to pack a light lunch, snack and water in your kids favorite Sipsters® cups and enjoy an unplanned simple summer day. These are the best #ForBetterBeginnings moments to share with your little ones and they will love some of the character choices and designs of the cups. Check out the selection on PlaytexBaby and Target.

How do you enjoy a simple summer day with your family?

When my kids were little I didn’t leave home without a cup and snacks. Watching the planes take off never gets old. I need to take my kids for some free fun.
