Week 2: Morning
Good Morning, Hello, Hi, Bonjour, Buenos Dias, Buongiorno, Good “Mornting”
I didn’t get to link up in week one but here is my Who Am I?
This week’s focus is: Morning. This is how my mornings go:
Meditation & Reading
Bible. Daily Word. Joyce Meyers.Yoga. Think….The house is still. It’s dark outside because yeah why would this preggo mama need sleep?!?! Plus the snoring from the Hubs right in my ear because we are squeezed into one area of this king sized bed! I digress. Oh but I get a good stretch in and then I relax and scroll through social media or write (like I am now.)
This morning I’m actually feeling sick. Yeah morning sickness doesn’t disappear for some of us. I’ll be 6 months next week and it’s still around. Ugh!
Coffee
Every morning! Well some mornings I opt for tea but yeah I drink a cup of coffee and I’m pregnant. Call the pregnancy police! Guess what? If you suffer from debilitating migraines like me (life long with a prescription that has a caffeine component or narcotic) then your doctor is fine with your cup of coffee. Heck I could have 2 cups if I want but one light and a lil sweet cup does the trick. Sure beats the prescription drugs. I’m taking more than enough meds as is! And with all the aches, pains and worry… Coffee is my treat. Just me, my mug and a book. So suck it holier than thou pregnancy police. Ok that wasn’t nice but I’m still having my cup of java in 3,2,1…
Looking Out
The weather is blah these days. I love to go for walks in the semi early morning. Nope I don’t wake the toddler to suit my needs. We go when she is up, fed and dressed and in a good mood! Ha. But this weather and these sicky bugs means we stay indoors. Oh and my workout pants no longer fit (insert big sigh here) So now I gaze out the window because I can’t sit out on the deck either! Where is the sun? Where is spring? I’ll even take a semi hot Southern summer.
This Face
Once she rises it’s on! She commands my attention and I wouldn’t have it any other way. And when her dad wakes up or she wakes him up by bashing him in the head, then they both need me. So yeah this face and her morning antics wins!
And just like that it’s afternoon. Don’t worry we had breakfast, Hubs lunch is packed, reading, lessons, playtime and at least one round of cleaning has happened. And maybe dinner is ready too!
We will be back to some morning activities for Sugar Plum Z next week. I’m tired just thinking about it but like I said “It’s her world.”

What do your mornings look like?

January 15, 2015 at 5:37 PMI love my coffee with my Bible/devotion time in the mornings and it’s even more amazing when I’m in a new location and have a new beautiful view! Love your post!

January 18, 2015 at 9:31 PMThank you Erin. That early morning meditation really makes the day better. When I don’t have it, my day is just not the same.

January 15, 2015 at 5:43 PMis that a Joyce Meyer app or just one of her books? I use an old daily mediation book of hers every morning, but always looking for something more portable!

January 18, 2015 at 9:31 PMIt’s a daily reading plan on the YouVersion Bible app. It’s only 14 days but I do want to find a good daily one from her.

January 15, 2015 at 6:41 PMLook at her! She is a cutie! Congrats on your newest addition. When I was pregnant my sickness lasted up into my 5th and 6th month too. I feel your pain. Hang in there, girl! So happy to have found your blog!

January 18, 2015 at 9:30 PMHi Tia. Thank you for the compliments. I’m hanging in. 3rd trimester fast approaching and I am happy about that.

January 15, 2015 at 6:56 PMThanks for sharing your morning routune. Mine resembled yours very much until the preschooler started school this year. 🙂 No judgement here. I understand the coffee, preggo, migraine situation totally! You have to take care of yourself. And migraines don’t help you or baby! Your daughter is a beauty! Take care of you both. Xx

January 18, 2015 at 9:29 PMOh Apryl I can’t wait for preschool although I’m sure it comes with it’s own ups and downs. And yes on the coffee. People give me the side eye and I just carry on as normal. Mind your business is really what I want to say.

January 16, 2015 at 12:16 AMHaving alone time each day is always nice. Especially, in the morning before things start getting crazy. My morning sickness lasted longer with my second child. With my first it was over after 14 weeks, but sick a lot more with my daughter.
M J
January 18, 2015 at 9:27 PMYes that alone time is crucial. The morning, noon and night sickness is ridiculous but it’s almost over.

January 16, 2015 at 10:39 AMSo much cute motherhood and pregnancy truths in this post. I’m calling the pregnancy police and Z in matching jammies with her doll is everything.

January 18, 2015 at 9:26 PMLOL. Thank you Adanna. Call them! I’m not scared.

January 17, 2015 at 11:49 PMOMG how could you ever say no to this cute little face?! Love this and I drank coffee when I was pregnant occasionally. I’m trying to get better with getting up in the morning although I like my quiet time at night before I lay down. But mornings vary depending on what day it is lol
Have you ever considered chiropractic care for your migrains? I don’t want to take over your comments section but I’d be happy to connect with you so I can share more. I went to a chiropractor throughout all three of my pregnancies as well and I know I can attribute that to my “mildish” labor and deliveries (b/w 5-13 hrs).
M J
January 18, 2015 at 9:24 PMI say no but that doesn’t mean she listens. LOL. A few moms recommended the chiropractor but I have yet to give it a try. Last trimester coming up so I need to.

January 19, 2015 at 2:28 AMI loved this post MJ! Zoe is definitely running the entire show lol. Just look at her little face. Since Mother nature insists that you still have morning sickness, I think a cup of Joe is the least you can have 🙂

January 19, 2015 at 11:22 AMYour little one is so cute!
I read the Bible in the mornings as well!
Have a good week! And take it easy!

January 19, 2015 at 11:47 PMI need to get better about my devotion time cause I sure manage to get that cup of coffee. We’ll sidebar about what you use for your devotional. I want to start next week getting up a little earlier to squeeze that time in. It makes a difference when we take that time.
She is so freaking pretty!!

January 21, 2015 at 7:00 PMI’m so in love with this post! The coffee — I had it all the time with my twins and they’re normal. Both are in college and enjoying life. Actually, I had it with all 4 and the youngest (18 is a coffee addict). I also have migraines so I get it.
Your little person is just the cutest. I’d totally let her own me too. LOL

January 23, 2015 at 9:34 PMYep! I will give up many things but coffee is not on that list. This little girl runs the show! Nerve.
