Thank you, Denny’s for inviting Fab Haute Mama to be an official #DennysDiner ambassador.
As always all opinions are my own.
Once a month we get together with Zoe’s bestie for a playdate. Well, not once a month because we tend to have impromptu playdates plus the girls take swimming lessons together. They call swim lessons their “swim playdate”. This month we asked the girls what they wanted to do for our playdate and they both said they wanted to go on a “pancake playdate” so off to Denny’s we went.
We try to incorporate a learning activity for every playdate so we brought along laminated placemats, dry erase markers and puzzles. The girls drew out what they ate for dinner the night before and what they wanted to eat at their pancake playdate.
We talked about how pancakes are made decide to turn the making of pancakes into a science and cooking lesson for later on.
No Kid Hungry
This month Denny’s has teamed up with No Kid Hungry to help end childhood hunger. You can learn more about Denny’s No Kid Hungry here. The site has a drop down and information regarding childhood hunger by state. School has started and unfortunately 1 in 5 children in America live with childhood hunger. This is the perfect opportunity to introduce the issue of hunger and how it affects children and their families depending on the age and maturity of your child.
Every year since birth, Zoe and I have worked on a charitable project. As she gets older, she is beginning to understand how important it is to give and support the less fortunate. We have already made our donation to No Kid Hungry via Denny’s. Every dollar donated feeds children up to 10 healthy meals. How great is it to teach your children that just $1 can make such an impact for children their age. Make this an awesome lesson with your children. Your donation is tax deductible and as a thank you, you will receive a Denny’s coupon for your donation.
It’s the social media era so share a food pic from your trip to Denny’s on Instagram or Twitter with the hashtag #ShareMySlam and Denny’s will donate $1 to No Kid Hungry. Go ahead and plan a pancake playdate or any meal at Denny’s with family and friends and share your pictures. Now through October 2, all proceeds from over 1,600 Denny’s locations will be donated to No Kids Hungry. Be a part of the fight to end childhood hunger.
Throughout the month of September, Denny’s is offering a free kids stack of pancakes to children between the hours of 4 and 10 p.m. with the purchase of an adult entree. Don’t miss out on the new buttermilk pancakes. Pancakes are the perfect fun playdate food. Getting a stack free is definitely a big hit with moms too.
Best friends + a pancake playdate = fun memories and great lessons. What’s your favorite activity with friends?
