For this week’s Friday Five Link Up hosted by Courtney from Eat Pray Run DC, Cynthia from You Signed Up For WHAT?! and Mar from Mar On The Run! the theme is Five Things In My Gym Bag. I don’t exactly have a gym bag because I don’t workout at the gym but 2-3 times per week I go for my run with Zoë and our Joovy jogging stroller we affectionately call Zoom Zoom so my stroller caddy and under caddy are my gym bag. Here’s what I have in my gym bag during those days: 1. Water and Snacks A bottle of water for me, a cup of water (or milk) and a snack cup for Zoë. I also have gum for me because it helps to regulate my breathing while running. Zoë likes to sip or snack while we workout. Sometimes I even bring a small lunch and we enjoy it at the playground once our run is over. Imagine how heavy this stroller gets with all that additional stuff. 2. Baby Essentials Diapers, changing pad, wipes and paper towels. And if we are out on a long run, a change of clothes for Zoë is with us too. 3. Sunscreen, Hand Sanitizer, EOS Lip Balm and Lip Gloss All essential for mommy and Zoë. Yes lip gloss is an essential for me because once I am done running I like to make it look like it was a piece of cake. LOL. 4. Keys & Cell Phone Yes we have to drive to and from the park and we need to be able to make a call in case o emergencies. Sometimes we tune in to the Baby Einstein station on Pandora while on our run. Sometimes we also carry a thick stick and pepper spray just in case we run into stray dogs or something. You never know. 5. Toddler Entertainment I always have at least 1 doll, 1 book and some shades for Zoë. Most times she will just enjoy the ride and people watch but when the going gets tough (toddler whining), a form of entertainment always works. We also sing songs, recite her numbers and alphabet and talk about what we see all around us. On occasion we stop and chat with other moms. That’s pretty much it. So what’s in your gym bag?
