e.l.f. Cosmetics: Haute Mama Beauty Approved

I’m tardy for the Eyes, Lips, Face (e.l.f. cosmetics) party.  But I’m glad I finally made it. Let’s face it being a new mom, the last thing any of us worry about is makeup.  Worst yet being new to this stay at home mom thing.  Now I put on my five minute face just to head to the grocery store and sometimes to workout (I’m desperate, I know.) I have a full arsenal of makeup that I will be purging in the coming weeks, however I will still purchase a few more e.l.f. cosmetics items. Why?

Because the 3 products I have tried thus far are great. No phenomenal. Ok, phenomenally great! They really are. Here is what I have tried so far:

e.l.f. cosmetics

1. EYES: e.l.f. Studio Waterproof Lengthening & Volumizing Mascara

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, this mascara. Did I mention I love this mascara? Yes I did. First of my all time favorite high-end mascara is DIOR Show. It is truly a show stopper as is the price tag.  My low-end favorite has always been Maybelline Lash Stiletto. But this little dream by e.l.f. is my new every day mascara.  It goes on smooth with just the right amount of coverage.  I am sure I can pump up the volume by applying a few extra coats for a night on the town.

ELF cosmetics

2. LIPS: e.l.f. Studio Lip Exfoliator

I am a big fan of homemade scrubs (raw sugar scrub) but why not have a go to product you can take anywhere.  At $3, the studio lip exfoliator is also cheaper than the DIY option although the DIY option is also edible (YUM).

3. FACE: e.l.f. Studio Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20

With all the craze over BB & CC creams, I am still a tinted moisturizer gal.  My high-end fav is Laura Mercier and my lower-end fav is by POP Beauty (I will have to write a post about the wonder of this product. It only comes in two shades yet it worked on my skin tone and on my best friend who is opposite in complexion.) Ok back to e.l.f. I love this tinted moisturizer because like my favorites it is very light and can easily be used on a casual day or as a base for a fun filled night.

I also own the e.l.f. Studio Primer & Liner Sealer. I will report back once I have taken it out on a test drive. I can’t wait to dive into the shadows, lipsticks, stains, and even a few brushes. I really don’t need not even one more brush but right now they are hooking us up with 11 brushes for $2.14 when you order $20.14 worth of products (ends 1/13.)

I have to say e.l.f. has definitely stepped up the drug store beauty game. The packaging is beautiful, the price point is ridiculous (seriously) and the products so far have not been a disappointed. Not to mention the directions, videos and beauty blog all accessible on www.eyeslipsface.com.

Busy mamas head on over to Target, Walgreens , Walmart or shop online. Either way get into e.l.f. cosmetics.

Like you I am a SAHM and I crave the need to look put together so I am very familiar with e.l.f. when I am just running errands and such. I haven’t tried the lip exfoliator but I saw it the other day when I was in Target. On your word I’ll give it a try because this dry weather has taken my lips for a ride.

I LOVE my Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer, I use it daily. I may just try this e.l.f. one. It will surely be cheaper!

Laura Mercier is the business. I miss it and I will surely purchase again once I have a “social”life again. Give the e.l.f. tinted moisturizer a shot. It’s really light coverage and definitely does the trick for $3.

I’ve heard some really good things about the lip exfoliator so I guess I can stop by Target and pick some up. Your link to the recipe for the sugar scrub is missing the link, by the way. The only elf product I’m using these days is their primer which is really nice.

Hi Christine. Thanks for stopping by. I must try the ELF primer. Also, I fixed the link to the sugar scrub. Thanks for letting me know.

I was a fan of ELF years ago and then kinda gravitated away from it. The Studio Lip Exfoliator peeked my interest and got me back. – Sadly it’s out of stock right now, but I will keep checking back. :o) BTW… love the blog!

Hey KGB! Thanks for the love. If I see the exfoliator I will pick one up for you. Yep, it’s the year of paying it forward so stay tuned!
