It’s back to school season which means it’s time to shop for school supplies, clothes and more for all the littles ones heading off to their very first day of school ever or checking off another start to a school year. Many of my family and friends have children who wear uniforms to school but if you are like me, your child does not wear a uniform. To be honest, I prefer the no uniform policy but I understand why it is in place in many districts. What I do believe in is children should be dressed neat and even a bit stylish if you will without going overboard. Here’s a list of what my Little Z will have in her wardrobe. This back to school girl’s capsule wardrobe covers about 10-14 days of outfits. Why so many? I make a great effort to do laundry every weekend but truth be told, it doesn’t always happen so having outfits planned out and ready for at least 2 weeks worth of school with some extras just in case (toddlers have accidents) works for me.

Biker shorts (2) for under dresses and skirts
Long sleeve basics 4 (solid and striped)
Button Up 2 (white & patterned)
Fall Dress Coat (Trench or light weight Peacoat)
Zip Up Sweater or Hoodie
Cardigans (2 – lightweight & cable knit)
I know this list is a lot but some of the ways I save is by shopping off-season, consignment sales, facebook sales and during holiday sales. It is very rare I pay full price for any item. Most of the popular websites have a promo code up daily, email subscribers always receive promo codes and companies usually share sale/promo info on their social media pages. And don’t forget stores Marshall’s and TJ Maxx. They always have major brands at a deep discount.
