B: Boxing Away The Blues

Yesterday I was in a funk. Just a little bit of this and a little bit of that had me feeling the blues. I even broke down in a few tears while chatting with my bestie Rita. It’s great to have a shoulder to cry on even from thousands of miles away. Nothing like a good cry with your girls.

Today was supposed to be the start of my April Wellness to myself challenge. I did good with food (no bingeing,) and I ate healthy snacks. But I was so exhausted this morning from another late night. In other words I did not get a good nights sleep. I really should be sleeping now but hey baby steps. I also didn’t go for my run or walk which was supposed to happen on Monday. Then the Hubs came home and I asked him if we could do some boxing drills. We did more than box and it was so worth.

The Workout:

Boxing

Squats, Lunges and Mountain Climbers with shadow boxing in between (3 sets of each)

High Knees and sparring drills (3 sets)

Jump Rope (2- 3 minute sets)

Post workout I took a long hot shower, laid out my running gear for tomorrow and drank 35 ounces of water.

And just like that boxing cured my blues.

Wow, girl! What a fun passtime! I can imagine how cathartic it is to whale away on those heavy-bags or the light ones even. Have fun!

It is such a incredible workout. No doubt boxing is a exciting sport. You can lose some weight and burn fats or calories. Boxing bags are available in reasonable prices, you can buy easily. I have a boxing bag and I practice everyday.
