Hi friends, MJ here. I’m a thirty-something wife and mama to Zoë & Baby E. In November 2012, after many years of hoping and praying, I became a FAB Haute Mama. In 2015, Baby E made his debut making me a full-time mom of two. I’m honored to be (step) mama to Big Z, our 11-year-old. I’m also a plant and pet mama. Yep, I have a lot going on in “mamaland”.
So much has changed in my life since motherhood. I share my experiences (good, bad and otherwise). I believe in sharing the authentic in motherhood. You never know who can relate or who can help. We are all in this together. The kids have an active social life filled with trips, playdates and fun. Mama is also getting back into my own self-care including journaling, doodling, dating The Hubs and having girls night out. While most people know me as Z and E’s mom, I am slowing bringing MJ back to the scene. It’s not always easy but it is definitely necessary. Happy MJ, happy (family) life is my motto.
I have a Masters Degree in Telecommunications & Information Management and come from a sales and marketing corporate background. I’ve also worked as a marketing manager for a boutique events and catering company, an assistant for a pastry chef and at one point long before I had children I rocked as a volunteer troop leader for the Girl Scouts in our church.
Some everyday things I ❤️ are coffee, tea and lipstick! I also adore shoes, pretty dresses, full skirts and all the fancy things. My day may be filled with mama duties but on the inside I’m still rocking my stilettos. Beyond coffee & tea, I love food. I’m a FOODIE and I am here for all of it! Not long ago, I started culinary school and then I quit but my love for food has never left. Balancing my love of food with the need for health is something I struggle with daily. Sometimes I just go ahead and eat the cake. Life is too short not to eat the cake especially after long days and nights in mamaland.
Zoë aka Little Z is my feisty and strong willed future artist. At almost 5 years old, she loves to paint, sing, dance and read. Zoe has recently started writing her own songs and writing letters to her pen pals. Zoe is my sensitive child that challenges me to be a better mama each day. When she’s not dressed up for her latest fairytale, she enjoys helping me cook and garden. Zoe also loves teaching her little brother how to count in English and Spanish. She’s my little rockstar.
Meet Baby E
At 2 1/2 Baby E keeps me on my toes. I am still in some type of shock (or is it sleep deprivation?) that I am actually a mom of two. Baby E is the ever climbing, jumping, and adventure seeking little guy in our home. Most days I’m fighting the anxiety he brings to the day but his smile is infectious and his love of life keeps me going. He’s all about the car, truck, plane life with an occasional dinosaur thrown in. He loves to help in the kitchen and will not be outdone by anyone.
Meet The Hubs & Big Z
The hubs is a pretty low-key kind of guy. Social media and sharing is not really his thing, but I still sneak in a pic or two on occasion. He’s a great guy who enjoys Netflix and chill and grilling. He also puts up with me and my antics and latest plant obsession. Big Z is a major part of my life but she’s also incognito on the blog with an occasional appearance every now and then.
