A few days ago I was chatting with a mom I met at the park about being a mom of two so close in age. Her question was simple “how hard is it?” My response went something like this… “It’s crazy most days, and stress on all the days but sometimes my kids get along”. I said it with a laugh. I didn’t want to scare her away from the thought of having another child in a year or two. She asked me when they get along and I am surprised I could actually name 15 times when my kids get along. On the longest days I can barely think of one.
15 Times When My Kids Get Along
They get along when they are doing art together. Art time is always a win. Everyone has there art supplies at their station and is free to create whatever they want.
They get along when, they are eating a meal. Well most times because sometimes the two year old is prone to swiping something off the four year old’s plate.
They get along when we are having story time. Story time is filled with laughs, make believe and all the crazy sounds you can imagine. Story time is always a good time.
They get along at the playground. It’s run and be free time so yep, there is no fighting here.
They get along when they are tag teaming mommy. You know how that goes (yes I am rolling my eyes).
They get along when we are in the car but do know that I moved their seats apart for this to happen. Any extra person has to ride in the middle. It is what it is.
They get along when we are outside playing, gardening, or walking. Outside is the key word here.
They get along when they see each other after being a part for a few hours. Pick time at school is always a good time. The big hugs they share melt my heart.
They get along on bubble bath night.
They get along on ice cream night.
They get along on mama let them watch a show night.
They get along when someone else is watching them.
They get along when they the little one needs help from the big one.
They get along when they are playing in their combined world of make believe. Oh the adventures they go on.
They get along when they are sleeping, in their own rooms alone. Ha!
I’m sure there are more but these are the top 15 times when my kids get along. The 15 times that keeps me from going over the deep end. 15 wins for mama and we all live to see another day.
